THE BEST EXERCISE FOR FAT LOSS

 


As coaches we get asked all the time what are the best exercises for fat loss. I can tell you straight up today that there is no single one exercise for fat loss. If there was, everyone would be doing it and everyone would be walking around in bikinis and speedos or even naked if it was legal.  

Yes we can target those muscle groups (also known as spot training) to get bigger and or stronger, but we can’t train them exclusively to lean out all by themselves. Again you don’t want to look like a potato with watermelons for arms.

Think about this for a second: Would you mind weighing what you currently do if you had visible abs or big guns? No, I didn’t think so. Everyone thinks that they want to lose weight, when in fact we want to lose body fat, look good and feel comfortable in our skin

The best way to achieve this is by building muscle. When you’re building muscle, you are burning calories, which means fat loss will occur when we are following the right steps.

And 3..2..1, immediately every woman will respond with “I don’t want to look like a man” or “I don’t want to become bulky”. Ladies you can relax you won’t look like a man or bulk up like the hulk:

Two things:

1) Your hormonal profile makes muscle growth very slow that requires years of consistency, dedication and effort (you as a woman don’t produce as much testosterone as a man).

2) You probably don’t eat enough protein to build muscle - in other words you can’t grow new muscle tissue out of nothing.

The only way to achieve fat loss is by eating in a calorie deficit, regular exercise, getting 7-9 hours of good quality sleep every night and to keep your NEAT up as much as possible. Saying this I’m not telling you that doing sit ups is of no value to you, but doing sit ups in the hopes of getting chiseled abs and neglecting the above, is definitely of NO VALUE to you.
