YOU HAVE THE POWER TO STAY IN CONTROL

Covid, riots, looting, winter, winter is over, spring, summer, December holidays…

If it’s not the first, it’s the latter, and if not the latter some new problem will stick it’s head out soon enough.

I’m sure we have all used one or more of these as excuses in the last 7 days, if not abusing some of them for the last 11 months. Yes there is a lot going on in our country at the moment, and most of it we cannot control. This however doesn’t give us an excuse to lose control over the things we can actually stay in control of.

We don’t always have the last say or over these issues or how they play out, but how we approach and handle them is where our secret weapon to success lies.

Wear your mask. Sanitise your hands Keep your social distance. We all have the ability to do that. We also have the tools to stay healthy, maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly to stay fit, control our bed times, and what information we feed our minds and thoughts aka social media.

At every point in life if we are juggling 3 balls. The first being family and personal relationships. The second ball is health and fitness and the third ball is the one that brings home the bacon.

Finding the balance to juggle all three at any time can be challenging. Saying this we will never thrive 100% with all of these facets in life at the same time. When our health and fitness is at top notch, we might be lacking in the personal relationship category. When work is booming, we might have less time for health and fitness. You can see where all of this is going.

But just because we don’t have time for the gym this week, doesn’t give you any reason to just let go completely. You might not have time for the gym, but you could get a 30min walk in. The same goes for nutrition. Just because you’re not hitting the gym hard this week, doesn’t give you any excuse to neglect your “diet” (Afterall abs are made in the kitchen or so they say!).

When situations get sticky, evaluate what it’s in your control and what’s not. Choose one or two variables and stick to them until things get better, and then you get back at it with full force when the dust settles. Taking a step back and committing to the process only 60%, is better than you giving up completely and then just falling off the horse entirely and letting the horse die.

November is on it’s back! December will be over in the blink of an eye.

Health and fitness is not a fly by night gig. It’s a lifestyle. Get a head start on 2022 and sign up today.
