HOLIDAY DO's & DON'Ts PT.1

HO HO HO HOLIDAY….the season is upon us!

2021 has come and is soon to be gone. A big question and a fear for most is how to not wreak havoc to their “diet” and hard earned beach bods of 2021.

Whether you’re traveling to some exoctic destination or just enjoying your own backyard, there is no need for panic. WE’VE GOT YOUR BACK!

Here are some tips and truths to follow, and we can ensure you will get the best out of your festive season:

  1. It might be holidays and festive season, but in no means did that ever imply it’s alcohol and binge season. Yes it is a time to be festive and indulge a little more than usual, but instead of spending energy on worrying about food and drink, rather enjoy this time with family and friends. Shift your focus to your relationships rather than worrying obsessively about your next meal and how much calories you’ll be consuming. Spend time with loved ones, hang out with friends. Sharing laughs and mindful convos will take up far less calories in your food log.

  1. Stay active - Saying this you do not need to be doing a 100 burpees every morning. Simply get up and go for a walk. If you are one of the lucky ones that are traveling, go out and explore your destination by foot. Get moving! This is a great time to gift yourself with a smart watch and start tracking those steps. Start building on that habit and get ahead of 2022.

  1. Limit your workouts - Unless you are training for a competition in January, this is also a good time to take a break for your 6 day workout routine. Cut back on the excessive weight training. If you do feel like breaking a sweat, hit up a 30min bodyweight workout with some lunges, squats, push ups and sit ups. Just like we need a break from work and everyday stressors, our bodies need a break from continuous heavy lifting. Show yourself some love and rest up. You will not lose any strength by taking a break for 2 weeks.

  1. Diet - The biggest concern of them all. So the answer is quite clear. Since you might not be as active you don’t need as many calories to keep you alive during this time of rest and relaxation.  Also planning a bit in advance can really take you a long way. We will get into that in our next blog.
  2. So be sure to subscribe so that you don’t miss out! We will release some seriously good information ;)

The Festive Season and any holiday or break-away should be a time filled with joy and as least stress as possible. Stressing about whether you'll be losing all your gains while on holiday, will only bring about more stress, for you and for the people around you.

Don’t be the bad elf and ruin Christmas Holidays!
